Description
The VP of Business Development will be responsible for leading the business development strategy, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and fostering long-term relationships with clients. This role will drive growth and ensure the company’s market position is strengthened.

Responsibilities And Duties
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the business development strategy to achieve company growth objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop plans to capitalize on them.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align business development goals with overall company strategy.
Client Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Engage with potential new clients to understand their needs and how the company can support them.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide exceptional service and support.
Sales And Marketing
- Lead the development and execution of the corporate Sales and Marketing Plan.
- Foster positive customer relationships to drive business growth.
- Present and promote company offerings tailored to specific client needs.
- Generate and develop sales opportunities.
Contract Management
- Handle requests for quotations and proposals.
- Negotiate agreements, including Terms and Conditions.
- Ensure a coordinated handover to operations for service execution.
- Maintain contact with clients post-contract award to ensure satisfaction.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with regional VPs and Technology Business Units to develop regional sales strategies. Participate in the global business development network.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.
Performance Monitoring
- Document all business development activities, including requests, purchase orders, cost estimates, and internal approvals.
- Survey customers to benchmark performance and practices.
- Monitor and report on business development metrics and KPIs.
Other Responsibilities
- Represent the company at technical and commercial meetings and site visits.
- Stay informed on the latest industry developments and innovations.
- Gather information from customers regarding future planning and needs for new technologies and services.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Chemist or Chemical Engineer with professional experience and in-depth know-how in the field of petrochemical technologies and the corresponding markets
- Previous managerial roles with revenue and profit responsibility in international organizations
- Setting and implementing sales targets with a team of international sales executives and their teams
- Know-how in polymer/polyolefins, catalyst or fine chemicals business, combined with excellent product and market knowledge
- Experience in IP driven sales and customer service or key account management on an international level in related areas
- Has worked in petrochemicals plant projects execution and understands the complexity of high investment unit economics
- Experience with international cooperations and complex contract negotiations
- Used to work with internal and external legal entities, project development teams and understands the particularities of the dynamics in different regions
- Leader with a clear understanding of the polymer market and related consumables
- Entrepreneurial thinking and a high degree of market and customer orientation, as well as communication skills
- Feels comfortable and is experienced in dealing with different cultures to lead a team of high-performing sales executives
- Ability to think and act in a network of experts
- Assumes the role of advisor to customers
