The job profile
As the new CFO, you cover the full finance spectrum - from being a trusted strategic advisor to the management team to making sure all the company’s financial processes run like clockwork. Your financial leadership facilitates further growth in this complex project environment, while enhancing financial stewardship, transparency, compliance and performance. You are passionate about sustainability and the goal to make a significant contribution in the energy transition.
You are part of the leadership team and you report directly to the CEO. You are responsible for Finance and Funding, Risk Management & Compliance, Tax and Insurance. In practice, however, the role is not strictly confined to these domains. Other projects may also fall under the CFO’s scope if they align well with the organization’s needs in this scale up phase. Think of strategic business cases, (project) financing or new business development scenario’s.
Your mission:
- Leading and growing a scalable, and future-proof Finance department;
- Set up scalable accounting and financial control structures;
- Formulate and execute financial strategies;
- Drive performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and variance analysis of KPIs;
- Strengthen the Project Control and Risk Management framework;
- Support (re)financing and project financing.

The ideal candidate
We’re looking for a proactive CFO who understands they’re operating in an entrepreneurial scale-up environment. The current organization is still compact, but has huge ambitions to grow internationally. The new CFO must feel comfortable in this very entrepreneurial yet highly skilled environment. At the same time, you are a crucial strategic business partner to the Management Team, Supervisory Board and Shareholders.
Next to this, you meet the following requirements:
- Completed higher degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or similar discipline. An additional, relevant professional qualification such as (e.g. CA, RA, CMA, RC) is highly advantageous;
- At least 8 years of experience in Senior Finance role in a project driven environment;
- Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, complex problem solving skills;
- You have strong affinity with financial and reporting systems;
- You are hands-on, proactive, customer-oriented and work solution-oriented with a 'can do' mentality;
- Fluent in Dutch and English;
- You have an energetic, curious, pragmatic & positive attitude;
- You are open for travelling abroad to intensify international collaboration and alignment.
