🧾 Treasurer Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Treasurer to join our Board. As Treasurer, you will oversee the financial health of the foundation, ensure compliance with Dutch regulations, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
This is a voluntary, unpaid position, ideal for someone passionate about social impact and experienced in financial oversight within the Dutch non-profit sector.
đź“Ś Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the foundation’s financial administration and reporting.
- Help strengthen our existing financial infrastructure through advising on fit-for-purpose systems & processes
- Ensure compliance with ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling) requirements.
- Ensure quality & compliance of financial statements and annual budgets.
- Ensure good oversight & reporting mechanisms over cash flow, funding, and expenditures.
- Liaise with our external accountant and ensure timely filing with the KvK (Chamber of Commerce).
- Advise the Board on financial planning and financial risk management.
- Ensure process and systems drive transparency and accountability in all financial matters.
- As a shared responsibility with other Board members, help bring professionalism to our relatively young & new Board and co-shape the direction of our work
âś… Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing.
- Familiarity with Dutch stichting governance and ANBI regulations.
- Understanding of Dutch tax laws relevant to non-profits (e.g., gift tax exemptions, reporting obligations).
- Experience guiding teams to set up financial infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements and budgets.
- Strong integrity and commitment to transparency.
- Fluency in English & Dutch
- Experience with grant reporting and donor accountability is a plus.
