About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading global investment firm with over $60 billion in assets under management across North America and Europe. The firm is known for its strategic investments in real estate, including office, logistics, residential, retail, and mixed-use assets. As part of their continued growth in Europe, they are seeking a Financial Controller to join their Amsterdam-based Corporate Finance team.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment with exposure to both U.S. and European financial reporting standards, and to play a key role in the financial oversight of high-value real estate investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly accounting close processes for Dutch entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and internal deadlines.
- Review and consolidate financial data from investment partners and fund vehicles.
- Provide accounting guidance for complex transactions and fair value adjustments.
- Maintain and enhance the use of Yardi accounting software for accurate financial tracking.
- Prepare and review Dutch statutory financials, VAT filings, and annual tax returns.
- Collaborate with U.S. and European teams on financial reporting, investor communications, and audit processes.
- Support cash flow forecasting, budget-to-actual analysis, and financial planning.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements and special projects.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, RA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate investment or fund accounting.
- Strong understanding of Dutch GAAP; experience with U.S. GAAP is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
