As a Financial Controller of Eastern Europe Region your main focus will be on the German entity, currently our biggest one in terms of net sales! You will be responsible for the financial month-end procedures in close collaboration with the accounting assistants who execute most of the journal entries, while taking ownership of the more complex analysis yourself and working closely together with the business controllers. You will also have an important role in the preparation of (local) statutory statements the group and local audits, the tax compliance (CIT + VAT and other) and other finance-related issues. Furthermore you will participate in Financial Control process improvement projects often in close collaboration with other departments within the company. You report tothe Head of Financial Control Eastern Europe. The Financial Control Eastern Europe team consists of 5 persons including your manager and yourself. The Eastern Europe region is an exciting mixture of mature and high growth and expanding countries. At this moment itconsists of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Romania and soon Hungary.
Being in close contact with local staff while doing the analytical review of the P&L and balance sheet, you also investigate variances and validate the numbers. It is your responsibility to deep dive into variances and ad hoc issues as your input is being used in the monthly and quarterly reporting and business reviews with (local) management.
You will spend most of your time at our Amsterdam Central Head Office. We hope you can appreciate the view of one of the most iconic Amsterdam canals.
Bring all of you
- At least 3 years of work experience as a Financial Controller or as an (external) Auditor.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. German is a big plus.
- Eligible to work in The Netherlands (working permit).
- A HBO/WO degree in accounting or finance.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Grounded, approachable personality.
- Critical yet constructive and positive approach.
High on energy, low on ego and with a little bit of humour. In addition, you are an ambitious, eager and talented financial. You thrive in a corporate, international setting and you are a team player.
