Financial Controller (32–40 hours per week)

You will be part of our friendly finance team in Heerenveen, working alongside a finance director and two financial administrative colleagues.
What will you do?
You will ensure accurate and timely financial administration, reporting, and analysis. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage accounting operations (general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, tax)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards
- Optimize financial processes and systems, including future transition to AccountView and Netsuite
- Ensure accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, regulators)
- Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and compliance procedures
- Monitor and optimize working capital, cash flow, and liquidity
- Support ad-hoc financial projects and analyses
- Support and coordinate internal and external audits
- Contribute to finance-related development projects (e.g. Netsuite implementation)
- Supervise colleagues and serve as a sparring partner for the Finance Director

What You Bring
- At least 4 years of experience in financial control
- Completed at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics, Accountancy, or similar
- Excellent knowledge of financial software and Excel
- Experience with Netsuite is a plus
- Strong analytical and accuracy skills
- Proactive, independent, and hands-on mentality
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English
- Team player mindset
