Internal Financial Controller (24 hours)
Salary: 55.000 to 70.000 (based on 40 hours)

The Internal Financial Controller is responsible for maintaining strong accounting records and delivering timely financial statements and management reports. The role supports business growth by improving financial systems and processes, forecasting budgets, and ensuring a sound control environment.
From managing daily bookkeeping and preparing annual accounts to optimizing the ERP system and analyzing financial data, this role is at the core of the company’s financial operations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete monthly management reports and annual financial statements
- Oversee the preparation and filing of VAT returns in compliance with Dutch financial regulations
- Deliver liquidity forecasts and ensure effective cash flow management
- Develop, monitor, and manage budgets aligned with the company’s strategic goals
- Maintain and manage internal bookkeeping processes for multiple group entities
- Set up, improve, and optimize the AFAS ERP system to support efficient financial operations
- Monitor financial accuracy and ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies
- Optimize internal financial controls and ensure readiness for audits
- Manage creditor payments and overall cash management operations
- Proactively identify, implement, and drive process improvements across financial workflows
- Collaborate closely with the management team to enhance financial processes and decision-making
Your Profile
- Able to manage invoicing processes accurately
- Independent and self-motivated in financial operations
- Familiar with Dutch finance terminology and regulations
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with AFAS and VisionPlanner
- Strong social and communication skills; able to report clearly to the management team
- Comfortable working with people from various cultural backgrounds
- HR experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and financial regulations
- Analytical mindset with great attention to detail
