Job Title: Senior Group Financial and Business Controller

Hours: Full-time (40 hours)

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Direct Reports: Group Finance Team, Local Finance Managers

Location: Netherlands

Compensation:

Competitive annual package including holiday allowance, pension scheme, and paid leave (Salary between EUR5500 and EUR6500 EX Holiday allowance)

ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Group Financial and Business Controller is a key member of the group finance leadership team and reports directly to the Group CFO. The role carries strategic and operational responsibility for the financial governance of the holding company and its subsidiaries.

The position oversees the full financial control framework across the group, including reporting, planning, forecasting, compliance, and performance management. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, acting as a central financial authority within a decentralized, multinational structure.

The successful candidate will ensure robust financial oversight, support strategic decision-making, and maintain alignment between group objectives and local operations.

All employees are expected to comply with internal policies and procedures, including those related to quality standards, data protection, health and safety, and environmental management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education and Background

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
MBA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in progressively senior financial leadership roles, ideally within complex multinational environments

Technical Expertise

Proven experience managing group accounting and consolidated reporting
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and multi-GAAP environments
Solid understanding of SOX-compliant control frameworks
Experience with international tax structures and transfer pricing
Deep knowledge of payroll, statutory reporting, taxation, and corporate funding
Demonstrated involvement in mergers, acquisitions, and post-merger integration
Advanced proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and Excel

Language

Fluent in English, both written and spoken

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Group Financial Control & Reporting

Overall responsibility for group financial and fiscal management
Ownership of consolidated financial reporting for the parent company
Ensuring compliance and financial integrity across all subsidiaries
Timely preparation, review, and analysis of monthly group financial and management reports
Oversight of local finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting

Planning, Budgeting & Performance

Lead the full annual budget and forecast cycle at group level
Monitor performance against budget and forecasts, including variance analysis
Support long-term financial planning aligned with business growth and investment strategies
Provide financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making

Cash, Risk & Compliance

Group cash flow management, facilities, and payment structures
Oversight of internal and external audit processes, ensuring clean audit outcomes
Establishment and maintenance of a strong internal control environment
Group-wide cost control and financial risk management
Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and statutory obligations

Governance & Advisory

Define and maintain financial policies, guidelines, and procedures across the group
Act as financial advisor to senior management on financial, tax, and governance matters
Support planning initiatives through financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations
Coordinate improvements and changes to financial systems and reporting tools

Leadership & Representation

Lead, coach, and develop finance professionals across the group
Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the group finance function
Represent the organization externally with auditors, regulators, funding partners, and other stakeholders
