Due to our continuous growth, PQE Group is seeking an experienced EHS Lead – Construction & Commissioning to support a large-scale biopharmaceutical project transitioning from the final stages of construction into commissioning and qualification.
Embedded within the project leadership team, this role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure EHS standards are upheld without compromising project efficiency.
❗ This is a full-time onsite contract position in Denmark, planned for 12 months (1 year).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage all EHS-related activities for the project during construction, commissioning, and qualification.
- Act as the EHS representative within the project leadership team, contributing to decision-making and strategic direction.
- Maintain close, frequent communication with the site’s Head of EHS to align project activities with site-wide policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to identify and implement safe, practical solutions.
- Ensure development and continuous improvement of key EHS processes, including permitting, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), safety inductions, and compliance systems.
- Engage actively with contractor personnel and senior leadership, adapting EHS strategies to project needs.
- Navigate complex and politically sensitive environments with professionalism and strategic awareness.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of EHS leadership experience in large-scale industrial or biopharmaceutical construction and commissioning projects.
- Proven ability to lead effectively across organizational levels (both operational and strategic).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site personnel, contractors, and executives.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Practical experience in developing EHS procedures and systems (e.g., permitting, LOTO, induction).
- In-depth knowledge of Danish EHS regulations and compliance requirements for construction and commissioning projects.
