Futures.Works is a global organization that, among other countries, supports freelancers in the Netherlands in finding assignments, invoicing those assignments, and monetizing their time online.
How does it work?
If you land a freelance assignment (or we find one for you), we act as your vendor in the Netherlands.
Simply put: We are an American company with a Dutch client.
To support our client with a specific challenge, we need a Dutch freelancer.
The authority relationship lies between us, the vendor, and the client.
As the vendor, we handle the client intake, act as the point of contact, and are responsible for quality, deliverables, and progress.
We hold hierarchical responsibility for the freelancer.
Obligation of personal work: You, as a freelancer, do not have an employment relationship with our client. We may replace you with another freelancer from our portfolio.
Integration into the organization:
You carry out the work, but we are operationally, hierarchically, and practically responsible—and embedded in the client’s organization. You are not. You will also use an email address from us, not from the client.
Duration & Exclusivity:
Both you and we commit long-term to finding you assignments and actively and demonstrably promoting you in the market. Documented.
Payment:
Per hour, deliverable, or project. No salary.
Use of company infrastructure:
You use your own equipment, transport, and—where realistically possible—you do not work embedded on-site, do not appear on schedules, and are not otherwise organizationally integrated.
Commercial Risk:
As a freelancer, you are an entrepreneur and bear commercial risk. You are not an employee.
Hierarchy, supervision, planning:
You follow instructions from us as the vendor, documented with weekly progress meetings.
This way, we enable you to perform freelance work—but truly as a freelancer.
